August 21 Report

Snail's Trail-1

The Pink Snail’s Trail used 8.75 yards.  Last week in my report, I stated that I had bought 4 yards of fabric to use for the backing.  One lovely lady said, “I don’t really consider that adding to the stash, as it does get used immediately.”  She is so correct! I’ll use the amount this time, but in the future, I won’t count it – unless I don’t use it right away, or I buy backing on speculation that it will be used in the future.

I also used up some flannel to make new covers for my magic bags. We use them a lot in the winter, so new covers will be nice!  They used 0.7 yards of fabric

  1. You’ve been busy again! I’m glad Roseanne asked about magic bags, because I was about to. (She and I often think alike – haha). A magic bag wrapped in flannel must be lovely on a cold winter night!

  2. Gosh, you are whittling away at everything! I really like your Irish Chain quilt, lovely colors that give it a different look. The pink fabric was a great choice for your snail’s trail, too. Two terrific tops!

  4. Hi Gail,
You are moving along on those UFOs and stash. I love the colors/fabrics used that UFO are so pretty – you could send that my way anytime. HAHA! I agree with backing purchased and used right away doesn’t count! What are magic bags? Can’t say I ever heard of them. ~smile~ Roseanne

    • Thanks Roseanne! Magic bags are bags filled with wheat, rice or some such thing. They can go in the microwave and be heated up. I love putting one in my bed on a cold winter’s night – makes the bed nice and welcoming.
