Colourful Bears
Did you know there is an Australian blog called “Clever Chameleon Quilting?” Well, you need to go take a look around!
One thing that caught my eye … and perhaps my heart … was the 2018 Beary Colourful BOM. These bears remind me a bit of the Care Bears that were around when my kids were little. (Yup, I’m OLD!) But these bears are so very stinking cute! They may even change my mind about doing “crap-lique.” If you know me at all – appliqué is not a favourite of mine – thus “crap-lique.” This month’s bear is orange.

Piecing
Still working on my secret table runner. Hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t say I’m still working on it … it is sitting, not being worked on!
Quilting
The blocks with the feathers are all done! There are 8 centre blocks left to do.

I remember Care Bears, so I’m old too. They are cute, but I’m with you on crap-lique. If it can’t be paper pieced, I’ll pass.

Hi Kate, Oh my … maybe we should start a club called “Crap-lique!” I wonder if many would join us! Happy Quilting & paper piecing! 🙂

The bears are so cute. My kids were older than the carebear phase, I think. Thanks for pointing me to her blog. Design Wall Mondays shows me some new things each week, thanks for linking up, Judy

I’m so with you on “crap-lique”, its just never been my favorite thing to do. Those bears are so stinking cute, it kind of makes one reconsider hating the applique process 🙂 Sounds like you are making some forward progress on projects, even if one is sitting for just a moment.

Those bears are too cute! I can’t believe I haven’t seen them before. Thanks for the link, I’ll be following for use. I am the right age for when Care Bears were popular, and I even had one!

Hi Gail,
I remember the Care Bears so well. Dominic’s mom loved them and we made a few things with that fabric back in the old days. She would say hey, I’m not old but that was over 30 years ago. Orange is her favorite color – maybe I should make something with it just for fun. Dione’s website is fab! ~smile~ Roseanne

Care bears are exactly what I thought of too, when I saw those! They are cute but I think the same of applique as you…not my cup of tea.
Your table runner is looking lovely! I can’t wait to see the finish!
Cheers!

You’ll have to wait to see the table runner! It’ll be exchanged later in the month while I’m at a retreat. The picture is of a mystery quilt / Beginners program that I’ve been mentoring through our quilt guild. Hopefully soon, I can show pictures of everyone’s quilt! Happy Quilting! 🙂
