I made this quilt for my niece when she was born!!!! I honestly do not remember making it … but I must have because I embroidered my name and the year on the quilt back. I also remembered some of the fabrics. This quilt has been well loved, but also well taken care of! It was fun to see it!
Away
I’ve been away from blogging for the last few weeks. (The posts you saw were pre-set to go live while I was away.) Lots of adventures that I will tell you about in future posts.
And while I was away, I had an OLD OLD iPad that was SLOW, SLOW, and even slower still. It was impossible to reply to any comments that were left on previous posts. The most I could do was “Approve” them. Sorry, if you haven’t had a response from me! I think a new laptop is on my “to buy” list.
Meanwhile, I’ve spent the last few days working at Quilt Canada in The Steam Trunk booth. Lots of buttons and trims, fabric and patterns.
An Elephant
Isn’t this absolutely lovely? This elephant quilt is quite new. (And no, I did not make it or do the quilting on it!) The pieces are laser cut and used Tula Pink fabrics. The owner of The Steam Trunk was at Portland Quilt Market and brought home kits and patterns. The kits sold out by lunch on the first day. The patterns were gone early on the 2nd day. She is making a list for those who would like this limited edition kit. If you would like one – let her know at The Steam Trunk.

I’ve had a few people mention quilts I made for them and not had any recollection of it at all, so you are not alone. It is odd, though, isn’t it? lol You have 16 UFOs completed already this year, I think you can be excused for May!

Hi Sandy,
Yes, it is odd to not remember making a quilt … especially when it’s for someone special (as my niece is)!
Thank you for excusing me for not having any finishes in May!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

Hi Sherry!
Yes, I agree, it’s important to label our quilts. What is really funny is that I don’t remember ever labeling a quilt until I bought my little embroidery machine around 2009 -2010.
Happy Quilting! 🙂

Hi Gail! Welcome back – we missed you. I know you’ve had fun, and delivered a few hugs. Get that laundry done, go through all that mail and reacquaint yourself with your sewing machine really soon. How fun to see that quilt for your niece from just a year or two ago or 28! Happy Saturday! ~smile~ Roseanne
