That’s correct! I’ve got 2 finishes! That leaves me with 8 UFOs and 2 new projects to finish before the end of the year for PHD in 2018!

This Kangaroo quilt is done, done, done. The label is on and it’s ready to be gifted! There is pinky minky on the back. Last week I talked about how easy it was to quilt. And, I mentioned that I did not like the mess it made when it was trimmed. When I was putting the binding on, I also found another dislike: it’s HOT!!! It’ll be nice and cuddly in the winter. If it wasn’t going to be gifted soon, then I would have put it aside until it was cooler!
Edit: This quilt was a panel, contrary to some beliefs, I did NOT appliqué it. Just added the borders onto the panel!
Here’s a couple of close ups of the quilting (front & back).

The Square Dance Table Topper is Done! The pattern (from My Carolina Home) is no longer available on-line.
I was asked to test out a ruler that is being developed. It’s in the “busy” sections of the topper. Close-ups will come later. In the meantime, I enjoyed doing the pencil with parallel lines and I really liked the texture it created!
Featured Again!
Last Week, my post “10 Reasons my UFOs languish” was featured on Inquiring Quilter’s “Wednesday Wait Loss.”
Happy Quilting!

Super work Gail! You will be finished your PhD with lots of time to spare. Do the rules take into consideration bonus points if you accomplish more than planned? Lol

Hmmm, bonus points? Not sure how I’d manage that … but it’s a thought! Happy Quilting, Cuz! 🙂

Hi Ann,
Thank you. It was fun to free motion the panel – no stress!
Well, I certainly hope that I can achieve my PHD in 2018!
I hope you don’t get blown away by the wind/hurricane that’s hitting the rock!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

Hi Gail,
I think both of your finishes are fabulous! I think the kangaroo is backed with minky (not pinky)? I have avoided using it for that very reason – it sounds like it is a hot mess. But it is nice and soft, and I can only imagine how hot it would be. I LOVE, love, LOVE your Square Dance finish. The quilting is fabulous, especially in that center star. Yousa!! Great job. Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne,
Yes, the Kangaroo is backed with minky … auto correct … grrrrr…. I’m on the fence with whether I’ll use it again or not.
Thank you … the square dance was fun to quilt. I wasn’t sure what to do in the star, but I’m pleased with how it turned out!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

Thanks, Gail, glad you liked it! The pattern will be available in my Craftsy store for purchase sometime in early September at the latest. Readers of my blog will have an opportunity to get it at an intro price for a little while once it is published.
