Design Wall
These are the 4 August blocks for the Fireburst Mystery that Tish’s Adventures in Wonderland is hosting. The pattern is currently free, but I suspect that it will be for sale when the mystery is done.
Tish posted 3 different layouts for these blocks … but I know better – it’s just a tease and the final design won’t be anything near what she’s posted. There’s still lots of bits and pieces and partial blocks to be used. I’ll be extremely surprised if the blocks end up anything like what she’s posted.
If you are still debating whether or not to join this mystery – will it help if I tell you that the steps are well written and easy to follow?
Remember my sandwiching marathon #2?
I posted about it HERE. That was on June 29th … all of them are done, done, done. I only have one flimsy completed. I should sandwich it and get it quilted. Then I’ll have another UFO out of the way!
Yes! Only 6 UFOs left to complete and 3 starts in 2018 that need to be finished. I am starting a secret quilt … I’ll reveal it when I can.
Stash Report
My August finish was almost done before I was away … I just had to finish the binding on it. This quilt used 10.5 yards of fabric.
- Fabric Used this week: 10.5 yards
- Fabric Used this year: 199.6 yards
- Fabric Added this Week: 0 yards
- Fabric Added this Year: 49 yards
- Net Fabric Used for 2018: 150.6
Happy Quilting!
Gail

Wow! You simply amaze me. Look at all those finishes! Congratulations. I’d love to see them unfolded so I can see what they look like quilted. A future post perhaps?
Thanks for linking to Wednesday Wait Loss!

Hi Jennifer,
Good idea … I had posted each of them as they were done … but all of them together is a great idea! It’ll happen soon as I haven’t been quilting much … it’s way to hot here and we don’t have air-conditioning!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

Amazing stash use this year. I really like your finished one at the top, and kudos for finishing so many! You are making more than a dent in the UFO pile.

Hi Gail! How great that all of your layered quilts are finished. I wish I could say them same! We discovered we made some of the Fireburst blocks the wrong way, so that is on my mental list for this week – to correct them. Sew on, friend. Happy Monday! ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne!
Oh no! Well, at least the wrongly made Fireburst blocks should be an easy fix! There’s only 4 blocks, sew it’s not like there is a 104 to fix!!! Best to you correcting them!
PS … when I make a mistake, I have a personal rule that i have to fix the mistake prior to doing any other sewing … it then becomes the priority and gets done pretty quick!
Happy Quilting & Repairing! 🙂

Hi Terry, I know you haven’t had a lot of time to sew … you are so busy with other life happenings! Make sure you take time for yourself!
Happy Quilting! (when you get around to it!) 🙂
