Blogger’s Quilt Festival

Fall 2018 Blogger’s Quilt Festival

Amy, from “Amy’s Creative Side” is once again hosting a Quilt Festival.  It is worth going to take a look at all of the quilts entered.  Lots of eye candy!  Click HERE. And, there are prizes … you don’t have to be a blogger, you can enter via Instagram … check out the directions for entering a quilt.  Here is my first quilt entry:

Apr 2018

This queen sized quilt was made with a pattern from Cindy Carter.  It is her Fall 2015 Mystery Quilt.  There are several sizes to choose from.

This was taught as a mystery quilt at the guild … here are some pictures of quilts that were made.  Isn’t it amazing what a difference colour choses make?

Grrrrr …

Peanuts - bedLast night, I was merrily sewing along, working on the Fire Burst mystery blocks … then, when I went to assemble the blocks, I realize that I have put the smaller triangles on the WRONG side of the HST … sew …. now I need to cut fabric and make 8 more large HST and 8 small squares.  I started procrastinating and then I saw this little snoopy Life tip on Pinterest and I went to bed.

I took me all morning and half of the afternoon to remake blocks and sew the final blocks together.  They are done … now I will impatiently wait for October’s steps.

  1. I love your entry into the online quilt festival! It’s always so much fun to go look at everyone’s quilts. Sorry to hear about your hiccup with Fireburst, but glad to hear you got it fixed pretty easily. Sometimes you just have to walk away. I promise, October’s step will be super easy. By the end of the month you just might have a finished quilt that’s going to be eye popping!

  2. It’s fun to see how different fabrics change the look of a project. Glad you are back on track with the mystery. It’s always frustrating when things get derailed like that.

  3. Don’t you just hate it when you thought you had made wonderful progress but realize that there wasn’t really any at all? Sorry about that Fireburst Mystery, but I’m sure it’ll be great in the end. Lovely quilt for the blogger’s festival

    • Hi Kris,
      Thank you!
As for the life wisdom, I will often make myself fix the mistake right away so that I don’t have to face the mistake first thing. But that just didn’t happen and with the new day, it was an easy fix!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂

  4. Hi Gail! A great quilt to share, and how fun that it was made with your guild. They sure do look different in different colorways. Ugg, I had a problem with the August 1st step for Fireburst. Fortunately, there is plenty of time to correct the errors of our ways. I’m looking forward to the October 1st next steps too! ~smile~ Roseanne
