A few posts ago, I told you I would show you close-ups of the Irish Snails Quilt. First is a better picture of the whole quilt. (The sun shone one day while I was at work and my dear hubby strung a closeline across the garage door opening and took pictures for me. Isn’t he great?)
The back …
The snail blocks:
The Chain blocks:
I used a cream coloured thread (top & bobbin) on the cream fabric and a darker brown thread on the gold and brown fabric. This gives the back of the quilt a 2-tone look. I sort of like it!
Happy Quilting!
Gail

Hi Deana!
Thank you! And to think I bought the kit because of the sea-shell fabric! 🙂

Hi Gail! Wow, I’m so glad your hubby was so nice and took pictures. He’s a keeper and he did a really nice job!! Look at that back! The snails really stand out and look so very, very cool. What a fabulous finish! Yay you. ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne,
My husband is actually a way better photographer than I am. I just point & shoot … he takes the time to get it “just right.”
I, too, am happy with how this quilt turned out! Hopefully, the recipient will like it as well!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

What a pretty quilt Gail. Hubby’s such a keeper for getting the pictures for you!
Stay warm. We have grey skies and brown grass. 😦
Cheers

Hi Terry! Well, it’s about 13 degrees C out and windy as can be (70 – 90 km/hr winds). Luckily, we still have power and the trees are still standing all around us!
Hugs!

What a pretty quilt! It makes me think of one of my favorite things — a creamy latte! What a fun finish for the end of the year! Now go, treat yourself (and hubby) to a yummy latte!

Hi Wendy,
Thank you!
As for having that yummy latte – I’ll pass as anything with coffee makes me extremely ill. I think I’ll go make myself a really nice hot chocolate! It is super stormy out and at the moment we still have power.
Happy Quilting! 🙂
