Daisy Chain Mystery Quilt Along

Remember … image.png

I said that I I was joining Little Bunny Quilts in doing the Daisy Chain Mystery Quilt Along?

The Fabric Requirements came out on Feb 4.

Here are the fabrics that I have chosen:

All of the fabric is from my stash!  I’m doing the “Throw” size, which is 60″ square

  • background is Free Spirit “Mist”
  • Focus is the French General blue fabric
  • Accent is the red
  • Coordinating fabric is the pile of beiges to the left of the red

Come join in the fun!

Fabric Shopping

IMG_2999

I did go shopping … bought some lovely batiks.  They were 50% off at Needle & I in Burnaby.  There are quite a few batiks left that are on sale  (I didn’t buy them all)!  They also had some wonderful samples that I got to see in person … and new fabric … and lots of eye candy!!!!!  I would have bought more fabric, but I’m on a very strict, “no buy” fabric diet, don’t ya know?    I didn’t take my husband with me – so I can’t blame him for any of my purchases!!!  If you live in the lower mainland, it’s worth the trip!

Now, I know that some of your are asking about all the wonderful Island Batik fabric I received.  It was a gift.  I didn’t buy it … so it’s not counting!

* Fabric Used this week: 0 yards
* Fabric Used this year: 0 yards
* Fabric Bought this Week:   6.3 yards batiks
* Fabric Added this Year: 10.8 yards
* Net Fabric Used for 2019: 3.4 yards
* Husband’s purchases 5 yards

Stitchin’ Time

  • January:  I’ve sewn 16 of the 20 days I was home  … that makes for 80%!   Those extra few days increased it from 73% that I reported last week!
  • February: 3 out of 3  …
  • Year-to-date: 19 out of 23 = 82%

    • Hi Vasudha!
      Thank you!
Good for you – starting a spreadsheet! I find it’s the perfect way to keep track of what I’ve done. when I’ve done it and what I need to do!
I ventured over to your blog … Daisy Chain Mystery – fabric pull and had a look at your fabrics! Wonderful!!! It will be SEW pretty! It will also be fun to see how different each quilt will look!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂

  3. Love your fabric choices for the Daisy Chain Mystery. Your focus fabric is gorgeous! Congrats on working in lots of stitching time. I’ve had a slow start with the PHD progress too, but hope to be doing better by the end of this month.

  5. Your fabric choices for the Daisy Chain mystery quilt are so nice. I really like your focus fabric and look forward to seeing the mystery unfold! An 80% sewing percentage for January is fantastic! I’ve decided I’m going to aim for sewing a minimum of one seam a day. It’s not a lot, but every seam is progress, right? Today I squeezed in 16 seams! Maybe I’ll report on my progress – it might help me meet my goals. 🙂 Thanks for linking to MCM today!

    • Hi Beth,
Thank you! I was determined to use my stash!
Aimiing for one seam a day is a great goal! At least it’s more than 0 seams! And – today is a good example of what can happen when we sit at the machine!
      Thanks for hosting MCM!!
      Happy Quilting! (or seaming!) 🙂

  6. I’m pondering joining in this QAL…maybe the baby version. I LOVE your fabrics! I do not have these fabrics so I have to go to the preverbal drawing board. If I come up empty handed in the stash I’m totally living through you 🙂

    • Hi Tish,
Thank you! It was hard to resist. I remember thinking, “It’ll be over early in the year, so I’ll be fine as far as my PHD in 2019 goes.” Ha! I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew … but you know, I do enjoy a good mystery! And I’m using stash! (How’s that for rationalization??)
      Happy Quilting! 🙂
