I have no finishes for Friday, but I’ll show you this picture again … just because I like it!
2 Nova Scotia Quilt Stores
We were in Nova Scotia last week and I was able to visit 2 quilt stores!
The first one was “Quilts by the Bay” near Digby and the 2nd one was “Mrs. Pugsley’s Quilt Emporium” in Amherst. They are both fantastic shops!
I was talking with Debra Howard (Quilts by the Bay) and she does several retreats a year. This June, she has the famous Jenny Doan (of Missouri Star) coming! How cool is that? From the slide show, below, you can see her great assortment of fabrics, quilts, notions, patterns and thread. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture of Debra, but you can see from the pictures how lovely her shop is!
Mrs. Pugsley’s Quilt Emporium was close to where we were staying and I was able to visit it on our way the airport. This store had been on my “Must go to” list because a fellow Island Batik Ambassador, Karen Neary, has several quilts there, as well as books and patterns. As well, I’ve been following Karen’s blog for years! See her website, So Karen-ly Created, to see why I wanted to go to this store. And, after seeing her quilts in person, I’m in awe that I even know her … even if it is on the Internet! She is a super talented quilter!
Unfortunately, I was unable to meet Karen, but I did get 2 of her books … and they are signed! BONUS!!!

Hi Emily,
Yes, they were nice shops. I had only planned to go to the one in Amherst, but the other was right on the side of the road. My husband spotted it and of course he drove in!
It is fun to visit different shops … each one is unique and that makes it fascinating!
Happy Quilting! 🙂
