Blog Hop Round Up Week 1

************************************************************

I’ll be posting my Log Cabin quilt next Monday.  I’m using Faded Blue Jeans and it’s a beautiful quilt.  (Yes, I know that I’m biased!

This week, Island Batik is giving away a pre-cut of Ancient Etchings.  This collection was designed by Jackie Kunkel.  Click on the following link to enter:  a Rafflecopter giveaway

Summer Solstice:  This quilt was not touched this week … why is it that changing the foot and the stitch size seems to be such a challenge?  I’m sure that it takes me about 15 seconds to do it!!!  What a silly roadblock!!!   Sheesh … I need to work on this quilt this week!

Quilting:

IMG_6120Bento Box  “Rag Log Cabin” – the straight line zig-zag quilting is done as is the fmq of the center of each block.  The binding is on … I’m in the process of clipping all of the seams … my hands cramp after a short while – so it’s slow going.  (And yes, I do have spring loaded clippers, which help a ton!)

Island Batik Log Cabin for the blog hop is currently being quilted.  Here is a sneak peak of some of the fabric and the thread I’m using to quilt it with.   I’ll show you the completed quilt next Monday.  That’s my day to participate in the blog hop!

Stash ReportIMG_6130

The little mug rug that Kristopher made is the only finish: see HERE for the story.  I know that it didn’t use up a whole quarter of a yard, but it did use up some fabric and I’m not going to make my calculations smaller than 0.25.  I’m sure that sometime this year, I’ll under calculate by 0.13 and then everything will correct!

  • Fabric Used this week        0.25  yard
  • Fabric Used this year:         23.25  yards
  • Fabric Bought this week:   0 yards
  • Fabric Added this year:      0
  • Net Fabric used                    23.25
  • Husband’s Purchases           0

Stitchin’ Time

I’m aiming for at least 15 minutes / day.

  • 15 minute days:  January 31 / 31
  • 15 min days/ Feb = 8 / 9 days
  • Total 39/40 days = 97 %

For more Stitchin’ Time, you can check out Kate’s blog: Life in Pieces

  1. Wow, you are organized. I’m so impressed. I am just concentrating on one quilt each month, and will have 12 less UFOs at the end of 2020. Thanks for linking with Design Wall Mondays, Judy

  2. My goodness you are organized–spreadsheets! Too cool. Love your multi-blue thread choice and the Bonnie Hunter Mystery blocks–I’m seeing those everywhere and feel a little left out. I love them!

    • Hi Susan!
A log cabin was one of the first quilts I ever made! And, I still love making them!
Make sure that you visit all of the Island Batik ambassador’s blogs to get more details on how they made their quilts.
      Happy Quilting! 🙂
