8. Today: Take Small Steps
By taking small steps Every Day … it will eventually get done! SEW … for the rest of April, pick one project that you want to complete and work on it a little each day!
I completed another UFO this week. It just needed to be quilted and bound. This was from a French General Layer Cake. The pattern is “Anita’s Arrowhead” by Anita Grossman Solomon. It is available for free, but I don’t know for how long. I altered the pattern a bit by adding sashing and cornerstones.
I quilted it with an all-over pattern, a 4, 5, or 6 petal flower, echoed and surrounded by swirls.

Great finish! You are really plugging along. I am behind, but will catchup. February travel made somethings hard, but I am glad that it was done. A little a day…good advice.

Love the Arrowhead quilt. It’s a beauty and even more beautiful since you used French General fabric. Great job!

I love the idea of putting sashing in between the blocks for easier construction.

Hi Vicki,
Yes, it made it so there are no seams to match. In my case, the mis-matched seams would be glaring at me all the time! 🙂

Beautiful finish! I’m able to sew a little every day, now that I work from home. I’m surprised by how much progress happens when I can sew for just a few minutes each day. 😊

Hi Gail! What a great finish and another UFO at that. I have to add that I just adore the change you made to the pattern. I think cornerstones and sashing add a lot to the design, especially with your fabric choices. I honestly cannot imagine it any other way! I am intrigued by your finish with the flowers in the center. I love how they are all kind of different but the theme of that one color (wine/burgundy/dark red?) really brings all the blocks together. You’ve had some great fun finishes so far this year. ~smile~ Roseanne

It was easy to do with using a layer cake … they’ve already chosen the fabrics for you!
