BBQG’s Jan/Feb Mystery Quilts

I have a LOT of finishes to show you. In January, I hosted a mystery quilt for our guild (Boundary Bay Quilt Guild). It’s a lot of fun for me!!! This mystery was written by Sue P … a member of the Peace Arch Quilt Guild. I did it as a mystery several years ago. I repeated it again this year. Thank you, Sue, for permitting me to share this quilt pattern with the guild! This post is dedicated to YOU!!!

I absolutely LOVE how the same design looks SEW very different with different fabrics and different layouts! And THANK YOU to all the guild members that sent me their pictures!

This is Kathy S’s: I love the tree’s!

Here is Lynn’s: Look at those sunflowers! So bright and cheerful!

Here is Pat R.’s with the bunnies all fussy cut! SEW cute!

Here’s what Cheryl C said, “Had thought my colours a tad too contrasting.  Then I pulled a batik out of the stash that, when deployed in the border, helped calm them down!”

And, just to show what a difference lighting makes, here’s the same quilt taken outside in the daylight!

Brenda W has her’s in the alternative layout. Pretty, pretty purples!

Judy D’s . She was worried about her photography skills. I’m not sure what she was worried about, the quilt is gorgeous!

This is Barb’s … It’s a great example of using striped fabric and letting the stripes end up whichever way they end up! It takes a lot of bravery to do that!

Robin made a design change … and I totally love it!

Here’s Kimberly’s … and she did ruler quilting in the squares! Isn’t it cool to put what you just learned into practice?

Dawna C’s …. I just LOVE the gingham!!! And of course the blues!!!

Here’s Heidi’s. So pretty and I love the polka dot squares and border!

I’ve shown mine before. This years is on the left and the one I did as a mystery years ago is on the right.

One who sleeps under a quilt is covered by LOVE!

  4. I love seeing the same pattern in a lot of different versions. The stripes all going the same way is one of the reasons I don’t really like using stripes–and yet they look *fantastic* in this! Looks like you all had a lot of fun!

    They are all so interesting and lovely!
