Retreat Fun

Eleven of us attended at retreat at Over the Rainbow Lodge on Camano Island. It was a ton of fun: Full of laughter, lots of food, a plethora of creativity and lots of yummy food. We had ultra gourmet meals every night and 2 ‘left-over’ nights … Did I mention the yummy food?

I’m always amazed at the creativity and productivity that happens at retreats. Everyone worked on their own projects. There were quilts started from scratch, partially done quilts and quilts finished, complete with binding!! There were bags and placemats and rope bowls and the list goes on. Lots of talent, clever ideas, inspiration and sharing!!! And of course, chatting and laughter abound!

When the weather was good, many of us went for walks. And of course, there was always some shopping at the Over the Rainbow Quilt store.

Here’s a video of some of the finished projects. I know that I missed getting pictures of many projects!! But it at least gives you an idea!

EDIT: I’m not sure what’s happening, but apparently the video isn’t working on Ipads or phones … here’s a link to the actual youtube video: https://youtu.be/1EKIzObyajs

  1. How interesting to look the slide show!! So many productivity – and finished items. WOW!! the bowls done with a rope is still in my drawers. the rope I have… these bowls are so lovely. My friend did it with old blouses. only cutting stripes from them.
If the group is in harmony, food is good, beds are soft, a good wine in the evening and good conversation with friends…. that makes a perfect week!
Happy easter time … (this blog post I could comment on…. :-))))

  2. Did you have to provide your own meals, or were there other options? OTR is close to me though I’ve never visited and noticed that they had some recent openings. Thanks!

    • Hi! We did have to provide our own meals. On occasion we have gone into Stanwood for the occasional meal, but usually we just eat at the Lodge. We take turns providing the supper meal and breakfast and lunches are up to individuals. We usually stay for 7 days … 5 dinner meals are prepared by 5 groups of people and then we eat left-overs for the last 2 days. There’s never a shortage of food!! Hope you are able to book a retreat! Have fun! It’s a fantastic place!
