Friday’s finish is my sewing room

Friday’s finish

I’ve been working on sorting through all of my fabric.  I don’t have a ‘before’ picture, but I do have ‘middle’ picture.  It went from this: IMG_0883

to this:

You can even see some of the floor!  I actually amazed myself that I was able to organize things as well as I did!   It did take a lot of time and I haven’t done a stitch of sewing.

And yes, there is other fabric stored in the closet and containers in this room.

I will write more about my clean-up next week.

  1. Now that, my friend, is a job well done! I’m looking forward to your next post. I need some encouragement to better organize my scraps. They are presently in tubs (a positive thing) all jumbled together (not so positive). I need to find a way to make me want to play with them.

  2. Hi Gail! Nice job – it is so satisfying to see everything straightened up, isn’t it?! I had to giggle about the exercise ball . . . mine is sitting on the hearth of the fireplace in the living room. In hopes that it just *might* be used if it is in sight – silly ball. Looking forward to your next post. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. The fabrics look great Gail. I find if I try to keep things organized I have a bit more energy for making things than when everything is in a mess.

  4. Looks great. I am downsizing and moving my primary sewing spot. Yikes! But, I had already started to downsize some fabric so I hope it winds up being more fun than I think. Organized makes it so much easier to sew.

  5. Congratulations on the reorganization! It’s always nice when we can see the floors of our sewing rooms…unless, of course, there is a spider crawling across it. Don’t ask how I know. -smiling-

  6. Well done You! I had my “fabrics in a wad”, so I organized my sewing room and am so glad I took the time! Now I can find things more quickly and can get projects finished faster. Yay! I look forward to reading posts about your next projects.
