Monday Moments: April 17, 2023

This month’s gift is a Drawstring Gift Bag with a Divider. You can go to Days Filled With Joy for information and the link on this cute bag. I’ll definitely be making one! Just need to pick out the fabric and what I’ll use for the drawstring!

Monthly Colour Challenge

This month’s colour is Olive Green. You can access the free block pattern (until the end of the month) HERE.

Here is my block and the first 4 blocks of the month:

Stitching Stuff

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

  • January – February: 59/ 59
  • March: 31 /31
  • April: 16 / 16
  • Percentage: 100%

Stash Report

Donna at Quilt Paint Create hosts a weekly linky party where you can display your stash numbers. This has really kept my stash from growing (somewhat!) Before I buy anything, I am always mindful of the fact that I need to report it on my blog … That sometimes stops me in my tracks!

No shopping this week!!! So no fabric was bought! However, this Crazy Quilt was finished and used 6.5 yards of fabric!

  • Fabric Used the past week:  6.5 yards
  • Fabric Used in 2023:        58 yards  from non-IB: 23
  • Fabric Bought this week:   yards
  • Fabric Added this year:     8.5 yards
  • Net Fabric used:              49.5 yards

Just an FYI: I do not count any fabric that is given to me (Island Batik), but this year, I am going to count it as fabric used.

  1. Wow, you already have your FW quilts finished? I’ve got to get busy on mine!! I do have all the blocks printed and will begin cutting and making notes as I go soon. Love the Sandalwood and the companion yardage you received for May. I’m working on that challenge at the moment! Your color challenge blocks are very pretty! Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings.

  2. Even if you didn’t complete your to do list, you still made a lot of good progress. I really like your fabric choices for the May challenge. Good luck with this week’s to do list.

    • Thanks, Kate! The fabric for May is a beautiful collection!! All of the ambassadors receive specific collections and are told to use them for the blog hop. It’s always fun to see what they send! 🙂
