Sunday Summary: January 21

A very Sweet sister-in-law sent me this picture: I think she knows me well!!!

SAHRR has started!

The hosts have shown their centre blocks and other’s have joined in on the fun. See This Post for all the details! Here’s my centre block!

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

Of course, with being away and not taking my sewing machine with me, my numbers decreased a LOT! That’s OK … the percentage is bound to increase – as long as I don’t go on holidays again! 😁

Donna at Quilt Paint Create hosts a weekly linky party where you can display your stash numbers. This has really kept my stash from growing (somewhat!) Before I buy anything, I am always mindful of the fact that I need to report it on my blog … That sometimes stops me in my tracks!

I did finish my Helen Godden Christmas Countdown.

But my trip to Hawaii, visiting quilt stores that sold Island Batik fabric, well, that was my downfall! 4 yards of fabric!! But, isn’t it beautiful???

  • Fabric Used in 2023:    2 yards  from non-IB: 1
  • Fabric Added this week: 4 yards
  • Fabric Added this year:    4 yards

  1. You’ll raise those stats on your stitching time pretty quickly. But sometimes you just have to go have fun doing something else. You’ll catch up on the stash metrics too. I think you were very restrained with your purchases. Happy stitching this week. I had a look at the first round for the SAHRR this morning and had to plan that out before I could do anything else. Happy stitching this week.

    • Thanks, Kate! We’ll see how the stats improve! I already know that there will be times in the year ahead when I won’t be able to sew … and I also have a plan to go to Quilt Canada with my sister & 2 cousins … along with some in-store shopping … and without planning, I know I’ll be buying something! 🙂

    • It’s amazing what even 15 minutes a day can accomplish. Even when I was working full time and sometimes 12-14 hour shifts with an hour commute each way, I would sew for 10-15 minutes and it totally took my stress away! Happy Quilting!
