For the SAHRR ’24, I am using Island Batik fabrics: a 10″ stack of Limerick in addition to “Teal”, “Egg Shell” and “Cherio-Iris.” For more information on a SAHRR, see THIS POST.
Round #6 is hosted by Kathleen @ Kathleen McMusing. We are to use letters and/or numbers. I debated long and hard about this one. At first, I was going to put a Bible verse in a wide border and have it circle the quilt … Then, in consultation with my husband, we debated on which verse to use. One of our favourites? one of the recipient’s favourites? We decided on Proverbs 3:5 a verse that is a favourite for all of us. But somehow, circling the quilt with the verse just didn’t feel right. Good idea, but not right for this quilt. And since all quilts need a label, it was decided on 2 labels … the Bible verse and my normal “made by …” The quilt isn’t quilted YET, but when it is, these will go in the 2 bottom corners on the back of the quilt.

I like how your words of encouragement look against that pretty print. Definitely a meaningful way to use the prompt.

Looks great, Gail! The labels are awesome. I will have to rewrite my post when my site gets migrated to a different host. I still can’t write at the moment. UGH!

Thanks, Kate! Once I knew where the quilt was going, it was easy to figure out what the number’s and letters would be! However, it wasn’t until last week that I decided on making labels!

I considered using a label too, but then I opted for the 9-patch block. I like your idea, and the verse (a favorite of mine, too).

Very good idea to place the verse and regular label on the back two corners! I think trying to put the verse on the front would’ve been very difficult! The gallery of SAHRR quilts is amazing and so diverse~

I think writing the verse out with my embroidery machine would have worked … but not for this quilt. I’m a great advocate of labels!
