I have finished the next quilt for a wedding gift. The fabric had been sitting for quite a while and the pattern did not “wow” me. When I saw this pattern, I knew immediately that it was the pattern to use for these fabrics!
Here’s a close up of some of the quilting. And yes, there were a LOT of ends to cut off. For the most part, I used my walking foot and a special anchor stitch on my machine at the beginning and ending of each straight section. That way I didn’t have to bury any of the threads, just had to cut all the ends off. Then I FMQ the swirls in all the background areas.
The pdf for the sewing mat tutorial is now smaller and won’t take as long to download. You can find it HERE.

Very pretty quilt, and your choice of quilting is perfect. I have a similar pattern waiting to be made. If I ever get around to it I may have to copy your quilting!!
Copy away … it’s definitely not an original design.

Love that pattern. It’s a great wedding gift. They will love it!
I really like this quilt and especially the pattern. I’m sorry the pattern didn’t wow you – but the fabrics are just PERFECT for this. I’ll bet the newlyweds will really love this. ~smile~ Roseanne
Congratulations on another finish. It is a lovely use of those fabrics and your quilting does a nice job enhancing the top. They will love it!
Beautiful quilt and the fabric is perfect for the pattern.
Beautiful finish on the wedding quilt. It’s funny how when something doesn’t “wow” us, we set it aside…hoping that we get the motivation to work on it some day. It looks like you found the perfect pattern for the fabrics.
Very pretty. Love the colors.
