I was invited to the Fraser Valley Quilter’s Guild to do a trunk show. I did one in the morning and one in the evening. A HUGE thank you to those that held up my quilts! I’m sure they have sore arms/shoulders today!
Here’s a couple of the quilts that I showed. The first is a Bonnie Hunter mystery from ~ 2009, that was finished in 2015. I altered the pattern quite a bit – but the inspiration is from Bonnie.
The 2nd was a block of the month from A Great Notion … I showed it because I knew that at least one member of FVQG had done the same class as me.
This last picture is of the quilts lined up on 4 tables in front of the stage.

How fun to do a trunk show! I do that a lot with mysteries, too, adapting to suit my liking. I don’t always love the way my color choices pan out, or sometimes the end design doesn’t click for me, so I just morph it into something I love. Being a puzzle lover, I do enjoy mysteries, whether I keep them as the maker clued us or change them up. 🙂

Lynette, I have a similar attitude towards mysteries. I have never equated mysteries with puzzles, but I think you’ve discovered the link between them!

Hi Gail. I’ve been following you for awhile and love all your quilts. I also took a block of the month at Notions…..$10.00 quilt. Michelle took it with me. It was the year I was diagnosed with kidney cancer, so we never finished them. BUT I’ve been working on them the last few weeks and they will be donated to Durrand House via PAQ. Maybe next year you can give us a trunk show. Would be nice to see you!

Hi Gail,
Lots of beautiful quilts lined up there on the tables. The Bonnie Hunter-inspired one is really beautiful. I am a huge fan of stars and pinwheels, and those radiating stars in all the different shades of green are stunning. I’ll bet everyone loved the trunk show! ~smile~ Roseanne

Thanks Roseanne! That was an interesting quilt to make! It’s Carolina Christmas, which is in one of her books … I’m not sure which one, though. 😀
