For the SAHRR ’24, I am using Island Batik fabrics: a 10″ stack of Limerick in addition to “Teal” and “Egg Shell.”
Round #3 is hosted by Emily @ The Darling Dogwood.
Emily chose “Triangles.” It’s totally up to you how you make your triangles, what size they are and how you want to arrange them.
My triangles were cut with my Accuquilt 8″ Cube die. They were 2 1/2” and finish at 2″ in the quilt. The triangles fit perfectly across the top and bottom, but were a little shy on the sides. I didn’t want to fudge like I did with the piano keys because then I would loose my points. So, I just added a little sliver of background on each end of the triangle row … and now they sort-of fit.
Here is the 3rd Round.
- January 15: I hosted the first linky party and you can see them all HERE.
- January 22: 1st Round: Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life

Your SAHRR is shaping up beautifully, love those blues and greens. I did a border of HSTs last year, took me forever. So you did really well on getting all those made and stitched into borders. That is a lot of stitching to get that far. I have an ideal for mine. Now to decide on fabrics.

Thanks, Kate! They did take forever to make … but that was my choice as well! I look forward to seeing your triangles!

Gail, your half square triangles add a bit of excitement to your design! I think being 2”, smaller than your other rounds, adds a lot to this round. Love it!

Thanks, Janie!!! I wasn’t sure about them being so small, but we’ll see how it finishes up!

Love your border – so many great colors. I like the coping borders in between, that give your eyes a nice resting spot and allow you to focus on each element.

Thanks Kathleen! The coping borders started as a way to make the quilt larger … it’s working!

Looks fab, Gail! I love all those little HSTs. No one would ever know about that little sliver you added. And the other participants project updates are fantastic. The diversity just amazes me. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
