Sunday Summary: October 12

My bag is finished and I’m in LOVE ♥️ . You can read about it HERE.

The borders are going on the Christmas train that Simina from Essem convinced me that I needed to make. I’m figuring out the who or what the driver of the train will be …

There is a bit of progress on the quilt … Week 1 – 4 are done. Week 5 is in progress! For Week 6, I need to make 96 small flying geese. Below is the current progress showing some of Week 5. You can access the Mystery HERE

September and October Clues are done. You can access the mystery HERE.

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “What’s on your Design Wall” every week.

Piecing projects:

  • Laundry Basket Mystery: Weeks 5, 6 & 7
  • Christmas Train: need to finish piecing the top
  • Piecing scraps of Splish Splash (see here) for something.
  • Starting Island Batik November Challenge
  • Work on a Test quilt for Songbird Designs

Quilting projects: none – unless I get the train quilt sandwiched.

Donna at Quilt Paint Create hosts a weekly linky party where you can display your stash numbers. This has really kept my stash from growing (somewhat!) Before I buy anything, I am always mindful of the fact that I need to report it on my blog … That sometimes stops me in my tracks!

The byAnnie bag used a total of 3 yards!

  • Fabric used in the last week: 3 yards
  • Fabric Used in 2025:     198.5 yards. {64.5 yards of non Island Batik fabric}
  • Fabric Added in the last week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Added this year:    28.5 yards
  • Net Fabric used:              165 yards

  1. Gail I knew it was your post on the linky party just from seeing the colour of the fabrics on your lovely bag. You’ve made great progress on your Christmas Train and your Mystery QAL’s. Well done! Thanks for sharing on To Do Tuesday. 😉 Carol

  2. Thanks for the reminder to grab the LBQ clues. I’ve been collecting them but haven’t started the quilt. Looks to be a winner!

  3. How cute is that Christmas train! I was doing pretty well on a schedule weekly of what to work on…….then I decided to hand sew a quilt.

    • LOL!!! Marsha, hand sewing takes a LONG time!!! But if it’s what you want to do, put it on your schedule!! There’s nothing wrong with having a slow project on the list! Happy sewing!
