Did you see all the Round #5s from last week’s Link Party? You can see them HERE.
We have reached the LAST prompt for this year’s SAHRR!!! I don’t know about you, but the time has flown by!
Anja has the last prompt of the SAHRR in 2026. She has chosen Quilter’s Choice. That’s right, YOU get to chose which block or blocks you want to do!
I chose to make Migrating Geese following the Youtube video by Studio 180 Designs. You can access the video HERE. The video tells you the exact size that you need to cut your fabric and how to sew the geese together. If you follow the video, it’s super easy to do!
Here it is:

Be sure to link up your Round #6 at Anja’s blog: Anja Quilts
The fabric I am using for this years SAHRR is Lumin Fabrics (Island Batik) “Radiant Burst” by Jerry Khiev, along with the Egg White neutral and solid white.

The Schedule
- January 14 Each of the co-leaders will be sharing their centre blocks (you will have to visit each of their blogs to see them). I will host the first linky party where you can show your centre block.
- January 21: 1st Round: Brenda @ Songbird Designs
- January 28: 2nd Round: Kathleen @ Kathleen McMusing
- February 4: 3rd Round: Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- February 11: 4th Round: Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
- February 18: 5th Round: ME!!! @ Quilting Gail
- February 25: 6th Round: Anja @ Anja Quilts
- March 25: Parade: showing all of your finished SAHRRs!
We have Sponsors!
We reached out to several companies that we all LOVE and many of them agreed to sponsor the SAHRR 2026!!! (That means prizes for YOU!!!). We will keep track of all of the participants that link to our Linky parties each week. We will make a list and use a random number generator to choose the winners for each prize! So, if you link up to 3 Linky parties, you will have 3 opportunities to win! If you don’t have a blog or Instagram account, contact me, or one of the other co-hosts, and we will post your SAHRR on our blog. This way you still have an opportunity to win!

Other’s Progress
If you don’t have social media, I will share your Round #6’s next week. Please send them to me by noon on Monday (Pacific time). Thank you!
Jan W: Please contact me about 1) info we need from you and 2) your links on the Link Parties. (quiltinggail@yahoo.ca)
KJ H says, “Picture of the actual block, plus its temporary location in the whole quilt.“

Rosie said, “Round 2 is Twin Sister Block, Round 3 in the corners is Birds in the Air, and Round 4 circles are on top of 3.”

Robin said, “OMG!! I’ll never be a pattern designer!!🤪”. But she’s doing a fantastic job!

Rosie said, “I cut red, white and blue 2″ strips for a spacer border all around the quilt. I decided to wait to address my size adjustments in the next round.”

Katie says, “I finally figured out how to sew all the parts together and got my fish attached. No whale yet!”

Here’s Donna R’s:

Gail H’s

Here is Jan’s: (It was deleted from the Link Party because it took me to my own gmail account … but I wanted everyone to see it!)

migration geese.. goose in the corner, ladies.. you make my brain work with these vocabularies, lol. I loved this migration geese so much, glad you tried them and find a link to help others to sew them. So much fun!
the last prompt is the most difficult for me… do it easy, and only creating the corners?
unfortunately I am short with time. And this is to say thank you to all hosts, I have a mark in my calender SAHRR 2027! Need fun in the first two month of the year! Eva

Nice finish Gail. I love those migrating geese, and I do appreciate learning where to find a tutorial for their construction. I wondered why once or twice when I clicked on a link it took me to my gmail acct. Now even though i don’t exactly know why, i do know that there is no problem with my device. Enjoy your week. Lynn

Thanks, Lynn! The migrating geese are fun to make!
With the occasional link taking you to your gmail, it’s good to know it’s not your system! we’ve been trying to figure it out, but with no success.
Have fun with Round #6!
