Dancing Shadows

Dancing Shadows is a quilt designed by Brenda @ Songbird Designs.

In January 2024, my Island Batik box contained a strip pack of Lavandin (designed by Claudia Pfeil) along with 2 yards of Milkshake (neutral) and Turtle (green). However, in my Island Batik strip pack container, the Lavandin was paired with Oatmeal (a very light yellow) and the Turtle. I went with it!

This quilt was easy and quick to piece together. The directions are fantastic! You can get the pattern from Brenda @ Songbird Designs. HERE.

Here is the finished quilt. I used Oatmeal for the light shadows and the binding!

And a close up of the free motion quilting. It’s an all over 3 finger open loop with echoing.

  1. Hi Gail, that is a really lovely finish. I like how you put the shadow strip to the top – it highlights how versatile the pattern can be! Your quilting is so much fun. Thanks for linking up to I Quilted This! Hope you’re having a good summer 🙂

  2. Its a lovely quilt! And the name is perfect, it makes me think of these lazy afternoons, as the sun starts to sink behind the trees and the backyard becomes a pleasant place to sit (except for the mosquitoes.)

  3. I had to laugh because the oatmeal strips look like coping strips but are obviously needed for the overall design. Your quilt turned out great.
