In the past week, I was away at a nursing reunion. How can it be over 50 years since we graduated? Yes, a lot of water has gone under the bridge, but 50 years? really? 10 of us met at a resort on Vancouver Island and had a blast!!!
OH MY!!! talk about a lot of belly laughs … lots of reminiscing … remember when the streakers ran through the residence? I do, but I didn’t see them … but the house-mother was asked by the police to describe them … all she could say was that one of them was wearing a tie and she described the tie … (I hope you’re giggling now!). Then my roommate from 2nd year and her hubby came to the mainland for a few days … lots of visiting and more story telling! We definitely had a fantastic time!
Stitching Stuff
Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!
I sew when I can, but it definitely isn’t every day!

A New Squirrel
For those of you that do not know, a squirrel is any project that distracts from what you are already working on. They are the tempting projects that you do not need … but are too tempting to resist!
This Squirrel starts on September 28. Each block will be available for free for 2 weeks and if you miss a block, you will need to pay for it! You can access the info about the quilt HERE. I have made several of Denise’s designs and have loved each and every one!

Monthly Colour Challenge
No change. Waiting for directions for October. And each of the blocks so far this year:
This is a Sew-a-long by Red Boot Quilt Company. I’m using scraps of Island Batik (Lumin Fabrics). Each of the blocks have trapunto and the appliqué is adhered with a small zig-zag stitch.
Block #11 is done … it’s a Magpie or Pee-Wee and she said to make it a bird that visits your yard. I thought about a stellar jay, but it’s blue and there is already a lot of blue in the quilt, so I just made it similar to the Magpie.
