If you missed the previous posts about this year’s SAHRR – you can see it HERE and HERE.
Today is the day that Chris @ Chrisknitssews told us to add piano keys for our first round.
Here’s my Centre Block with the first round added. As you can see, I didn’t add them in the corners. With the skinny border added, it made my block 11″ x 11″ … my piano keys were cut at 2.5″ x 1.5″ and will end up as 2″ x 1″ when the next round is added. I continued to use a variety of fabrics from Island Batik’s Ohana collection.

Make sure to visit all of the other co-leaders and link up to Chris’s linky party to show us your blocks!

Making it work for your center and fabrics is always a fun part of a quilt along. You are off to a great start with your SAHRR.

I love all the colours in your keys. I took some inspiration from you, and did squares in my corners too. I’ll have my post ready on the weekend.

OH GAIL! Your Round Robin saved my life today! I was just down and out and decided it was time to play with 3 center medallions I could use for the SAHRR! I have just finished it and I feel like I found my quilting mojo and creativity! I needed a break from OMIGOSH and I am so pleased with the first round!
You have inspired me. Next I must load a small wall hanging onto the Longarm so I can meet my PHD 2021 monthly project! Thank you for hosting. I have been uplifted! Check out my post with a picture of my first SAHRR! https://doitrightquilter.com/2021/01/19/sahrr-i-found-my-quilting-mojo-1-19-2021/

It’s so neat that we didn’t each use the same look on our rounds! Each are a little different from the other. Love the colors and your center design just pops!

Thanks, Chris! I agree. It’s lovely that we didn’t collaborate on HOW we were each going to do the blocks! Makes it so fun!

Gail I love seeing the plain corner blocks in your pretty piano key border. It’s giving my eyes are resting place as I look at the fabric in each and every key. This is going to be a stunning quilt and it’s so much fun to see each step as you progress to a finish.
