Gather: 9 Contrast #2 Squares and 9 Background Squares
Make Half-Square Triangles.
Mark each background square diagonally down the centre. (see Blue line on the diagram).
Place (1) Contrast #2 Square, right sides together with (1) Background square.
Sew ¼” away from the marked centre line. (see Red lines on the diagram)

Cut down the middle – on the blue line.
Press towards the Background triangle.
Trim to 6 ½” square.

Repeat with the other (8) Contrast #1 squares. Yield 18 Half-Square Triangles with Contrast #2
