Stitching Stuff

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

Stash Report

Donna at Quilt Paint Create hosts a weekly linky party where you can display your stash. This has really kept my stash from growing (somewhat!) Before I buy anything, I am always mindful of the fact that I need to report it on my blog … That sometimes stops me in my tracks! However, I am human and I do break down and buy fabric!

Our guild had a Valentine’s SEWscial on Saturday. It was lots of fun! SEW good to see people in person! There were 2 venders there and lots of fabric, but I resisted and didn’t buy any. However, I did whip out the credit card and did do some shopping! A cone of Aurifil thread, 4 spools of thread, a Silly Moon ruler for ruler quilting, a marking pen, pins, a purple thang (mine is broken) and a Clover seam ripper (my favourite!)
The little cutting mat was free if you spent more than $100. Which was easy to do with this haul!
SEW this meme is still true!

#1 SAHRR is in progress … This is Round 5 … You can read details about this round HERE.

#2 Time in a Bottle: This is for a blog hop in March … this is still in progress, but progress has been made! I am using Island Batik fabrics – small bits and pieces left over from my gradations quilts and paired with the wonderful Island Batik solid grey!

#3 Macaron Mystery. Block A is done. 2 of Block B are completed. All the fabrics are from my stash.

Quilting:
No quilting happening … I’ve got to get some flimsies done!

The first chart shows my overall PHD standing and New Starts … the 2nd more colourful chart shows all the tasks, or steps I need to take to complete my UFOs.

One who sleeps under a quilt is covered by LOVE!
Happy Quilting!

Your SAHRR looks amazing! Your shopping trip sounds like such fun, and yay on the free cutting mat. Are those batiks on your mystery block? So pretty.
I’m late in commenting, but thanks for linking up to To Do Tuesday!

Thanks, Linda! I notice that my photos got switched and are not in order. The hour-glass block – which is for the Time in a Bottle blog hop is batiks, the picture of the 2 blue & white blocks are for the Macaron Mystery and are not batiks.
Thank you for hosting To Do Tuesday!

Wow! Gail you’ve had another great week. Your Guild Social must have been a blast! Looks like fun shopping and still no fabric? You do have restraint. Looking forward to seeing your Time in a Bottle Hop Project with those lovely fabric bits. 😉

To be honest, Carol, I only looked at the thread and notions and really didn’t look at the fabric! And the Time in a Bottle project is coming along – one stitch at a time! 🙂

Hi Gail! I love the title of this post! You’ve shared lots of newsy news. That was a great haul for $100 – it’s so easy to spend and the free mat is a nice incentive. No fabric purchases in 2022 – that is impressive. I cannot say the same . . . even though I do not have a single finish yet. Keep it going – you have been so productive! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Oh Roseanne, I may have mislead you … the haul was closer to $200 … The cone alone costs ~ $60 …
You will have a finish or two SOON!!!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

Love your Macaron Mystery block! You’ve got lots of fun stuff going on in the sewing room. Congrats on all the stitching time and progress on your to do list. You must fit a lot in those 30 minute sessions!

Thanks, Kathy! Well, to be honest, those 30 minutes often turn into a few hours or more! 🙂

Nice haul, Gail!! That gray cone is what I use most for piecing as it blends so well with most everything!! Glad you enjoyed your social.

Well, I’m not buying fabric, but I do like to use different colours of Aurifil to quilt my Island Batik quilts … and I was actually lacking these colours! 🙂
