I’ve been away for awhile. The posts you’ve seen in the last few weeks were scheduled ahead of time. (Except for the Quilt Canada one.) Now, it’s time for me to catch up!
While at my sister’s in Edmonton, we had a sewing day and made window hangings! The pattern is from Epida Studio and the technique is Pojagi. You can access the pattern HERE. It was fun to make as a group! (From left to right, me, cousin Terry, cousin Connie and my sister, Lynn.)

Mine is now hanging in my window!

Stitching Stuff

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “What’s on your Design Wall” every week.
Piecing projects:
- Jam Session … but I can’t show you until the pattern is released.
- “Something Smells Fishy”
- August Island Batik project
Quilting:
- Quilting “Gardenia“
- Lone Star Left-overs (you can see details of the Lone Star HERE). I need to figure out the backing and then quilt it.

Sunday Stash

Donna at Quilt Paint Create hosts a weekly linky party where you can display your stash numbers. This has really kept my stash from growing (somewhat!) Before I buy anything, I am always mindful of the fact that I need to report it on my blog … That sometimes stops me in my tracks!
In the past 3 weeks, I have posted 3 finishes …
- St. Paddy’s quilt (See THIS Post) 4 yards
- Prisms blog hop (See THIS POST). 8 yards
- a UFO (see HERE) 4 yards
- Pojagi Window Hanging 1.5 yards

I did do some fabric shopping while in Edmonton. One store (Lori’s Country Cottage) had a fantastic 40% off sale!! I couldn’t resist! I bought 4 yards of grey fireside (background) and 4 yards of Island Batik “Drizzle.”

- Fabric Used in the last 2 weeks : 17.5 yards
- Fabric Used in 2024: 113 yards from non-IB: 45.5
- Fabric Added in the last couple of weeks: 8 yards
- Fabric Added this year: 29.5 yards
- Net Fabric used: 83.5 yards

I really like the bird fabric. Must have missed that line when it came out.

It came out several years ago … I’d even say several years before Covid!! This is the 2nd quilt I’ve made and the first was finished in 2010 … and I KNOW the fabric had been hanging around in my stash since before then! 🙂

Love the family picture with their Canada Day blocks! The “drizzle” fabric looks lucksous….perfect for one or more of your fabulous Island Batik projects.

Hi Gail. Looks like you had fun creating Canada Day hangings. I love Elizabeth’s pojagi technique and have done a couple of curtains using the technique. As usual you have some gorgeous projects on the go. I’m looking forward to seeing your newest secret projects. Hope you had a fantastic Canada Day. Thanks for joining To Do Tuesday. Good luck with your list this week. 🤗 Carol

It was fun to sew with each other in person! We try to sew once a month via zoom, so in person was a lot of fun!
