This is ALMOST all true!! However, I don’t think I’ve EVER tidied the sewing studio to avoid starting a new project!! I might tidy before starting a new project so that I can a) find space on my ironing board or b) find space on my cutting table or c) find space to actually work on the project!
A Quick Finish
These placemats were completed for a “Christmas in July” blog hop. See HERE for more details.

Stitching Stuff

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “What’s on your Design Wall” every week.
Piecing projects:

- “Bloomers:” I decided to use fabric from the Radiant Burst collection! And the main blocks are started with Eggwhite and Solid White. Here are blocks 1-4 (with #2 reversed). The Hexi and half Hexi blocks are started …
- Island Batik’s September Challenge is the Threaded Chaos Blog Hop – a Crazy Quilt using Aurifil thread … It’s in progress, but I can’t show you YET … but I can show you a picture of the fabric I’m using …
- Estrella bag (I bought a kit at Emmaline Bags – see HERE)

Quilting projects:

- Splish Splash is webbed together and needs a backing, sandwiching and quilting.
- Disappearing 9 patch using “ORANGE“ and Island Batik’s solid grey for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I have the backing … it needs sandwiching.
- Purple for Rainbow Scrap Challenge I have the backing … it needs sandwiching.
Sunday Stash

Donna at Quilt Paint Create hosts a weekly linky party where you can display your stash numbers. This has really kept my stash from growing (somewhat!) Before I buy anything, I am always mindful of the fact that I need to report it on my blog … That sometimes stops me in my tracks!
No purchases this week, but I used about 2 yards of fabric for the placemats.

- Fabric used in the last week: 2 yards
- Fabric Used in 2025: 149.5 yards. {47 yards of non Island Batik fabric}
- Fabric Added in the last week: 0 yards
- Fabric Added this year: 24.5 yards
- Net Fabric used: 125 yards

I agree with your meme today…all true for me except maybe the last one. Your Bloomers project is coming along nicely and I really like your placemats. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week.

Thanks, Brenda! When I was looking for quilting ideas, a friend of mine told me to “Scroll” Pinterest and Instagram … so I do it occasionally when I’m stuck!

Your “Bloomers” are blooming very nicely! Batiks always make such pretty applique blocks. Your RSC projects remind me that I haven’t looked at any of mine this year. I need that “resisting squirrels” reminder regularly too!

Thanks, Vivian!! If you haven’t looked at any of your RSC projects … you have a few choices … 1) you can skip this year 2) you can start now and finish the rest of the year or 3) you can start now and play ‘catch up.’ Hmmm … I wonder which you will choose? LOL!!

Sewcrastination is a something I suffer from 24/7. I would much prefer sewing than cleaning or organizing or cooking or . . .
