My First UFO Finish in November!!

The first of 3 “Ivan’s Diamonds” is finished! I finished this at the retreat.  It took a day and a half to quilt.  Once I have things organized, I’ll give you a taste of the retreat.  If you want a bit of the backstory of this quilt go HERE.

It is quilted with a blue thread, with a combination of flowers, swirls, tear-drops, wiggly thingies and whatever fit in.

Happy Quilting!

  3. Hi Gail! Love, love, LOVE this version the best (don’t tel the others though!). What a productive retreat. Aren’t you just so proud of yourself?!! YAY you. Another one bites the dust, another one bites the dust hey hey, and another one’s gone and another one’s gone . . . You get the gist. Happy Saturday! ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. Tick…tick…time is ticking but you’re gonna make it! Congrats on the finish Gail. That’s such a lovely pattern, no wonder you made it multiple times. It looks wonderful.
I have a question about labels. And, since you have lots of followers I wonder if you or any of them have any suggestions.
I don’t have an embroidery machine and don’t like the results when I tried using my janome 7700 to make them so I handwrite my labels. I actually like the fact that my handwriting is on them. finding that after washing the quilts a few times the “permanent” marker fades. I’m interested in knowing if there are other options.

    • Hi Terry,
Labels … I started out using the alphabet on my domestic machine. When I had an opportunity to buy a small embroidery machine, I started using it to make labels.
One of my friends goes to an art’s store (Opus) and buys her fabric pens there. She says they hold up better than the normal quilting ones. One brand is Faber Castell and comes in many different colours.
I’m planning a post on labels in the near future … perhaps some of my followers will have suggestions!
Hugs & Happy Quilting, Cuz! 🙂
