Stay-at-Home Round Robin … finished!

Screen Shot 2020-03-14 at 4.34.42 PM

My 2 Round Robin quilts are all finished!  Quilted and binding done!

The Purple

Here is the purple one that was done as a quilt-as-you-go.  Eagle eyes will notice the pins in the binding at the top … that’s because this quilt is waiting for a special little one to be born and that’s where the label will go.

The Blue

And the blue one … I quilted and quilted and quilted and I LOVE it!  I even did some ruler quilting!

The Quilting

And, close-ups of the quilting:

I know that the centre square (below) turned out wonky … but that’s just the way it is and it’s staying that way.  Perhaps the next time I do it, it will be more non-wonky!

    • Hi Denise,
      Thank you …
I’m not sure what the name of the royal blue flowers are … they’re a perennial … blooms mostly in the spring, but sometimes throughout the summer …
Thanks for hosting “Put your foot down!”

  2. Congratulations on a great finish! Love them both, but especially the quilting you did on the blue one. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.

  4. Both are great, but I think the purple one is my favourite. I have a list of all the steps, but sadly I didn’t get around to making a quilt. Maybe in the future, I’ll follow through. ☺

  5. Love those round robin quilts, Gail. I’ve been thinking I’d like to do one, but it hasn’t happened yet. Your quilting looks fabulous. No one would have noticed the very minor issue with centreing had you not pointed it out. Shhh! Looks great.

  6. Gail — both of these quilts came out great. You did an incredible job with quilting the blue one! It looks amazing! And completing the binding except for right where the label goes is simply brilliant when you want to be able to add that finishing touch and then get it to the baby ASAP once she or he is born. I’m storing that tip away in the back of my mind for future use!

    • Thanks, Rebecca!
I do like the label to be in the binding … and I consider the quilt finished because I know that as soon as the label is made, the quilt will be quickly finished. And the label is usually made shortly after I know the details!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂

  7. Hi Gail! LOVE both of these. Eagle eyes – that would NOT be me. It’s cool that you left room for the label for the wee sweet one’s arrival. Your quilting is really rocking it lately. I love that center block but even more how you quilted the pinwheels surrounding it. And the square-in-a-square stitching pattern is cool, too. I love the whole thing. Great job! ~smile~ Roseanne

  8. Beautiful! I especially love the purple one, but that’s no surprise since it’s my favorite color 🙂 So glad it is going to a special little one!

    • Hi Kathleen!
I know your Round Robin will reappear … things put aside often do!
Yes, Susan’s idea of using orphan blocks is pretty cool!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂
