PHD in 2020: December 1 Report

WOW!!! Can you believe it’s December?? One month left to complete at least 12 UFOs and finish off your 2020 starts!

SEW … how have you been doing? I know that some of you are doing fantastic and have already met your goals … and some have “given up” on 2020 and have their list ready and waiting to start in 2021!!!

YES, there will be a PHD in 2021. Personally, I’m hoping to finish the rest of my UFOs next year!!! However, I realize that I will need to be disciplined to finish every new start – otherwise my UFO list with grow and I actually hope to never have a HUGE UFO list!!!

I did not finish a UFO in November. BUT … it is sandwiched and ready to quilt. Priorities got in the way. Here’s a picture of most of the 2020 UFOs that I completed. Next month, I’ll be sure to include them all!

If you look closely at the list … For the starts in 2020 … my IB Dec should be finished within the next week. The Morewood Mystery can’t be finished until the spring … it’s an ongoing project. Connected … I have to wait until I have all the parts to decide what I’m going to do. I have all the parts, but they’re in sealed envelopes that I can’t open until I’m told it’s time to open them! Doesn’t it sound like fun??? It is!

  1. Congratulations Gail. I won’t be graduating this year. Not even close! My OMG for December is my main UFO. I hope to have the quilt top done by the end of December. I know that I will love quilting it, so it will at least get finished quickly once it’s sandwiched! Take care and thanks for hosting.

  2. I’m getting close! For 2021, I want to combine some of my UFOs with using up fabric I already have–for me it’s as much about using up what I have as finishing projects. I have a lot of planned projects that I haven’t actually started yet so they aren’t actually UFOs yet 🙂

  3. I’m working on my UFOs, but I need to go back to my original list. I have high hopes of getting everything done by the end of the year. Fingers crossed xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  4. You’ve done a great job finishing up so many quilts. Already finished 12+. I’ll have 5 done which doesn’t get me a diploma but it does give me satisfaction that they at least ARE DONE!

    • You’re correct, Sue; 5 finished UFOs will not get you your PHD in 2020 – but hey, you got 5 UFOs done!!! And that is progress! Good for you!!! Now, you just need to add 5 more to the 7 you didn’t get done and you’ll be ready for PHD in 2021!!!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂
