Clue #1
Take 4 strips of background 2 ½” WOF and 4 strips of Contrast #2. Sew strips lengthwise.
Cut these strips into 2 ½” pieces. Pieces will be 2 ½” x 4 ½” You will need 68 pieces.
Label these pieces “Step 1”.

I have a piece of fabric large enough for the background fabric with a very thin stripe on it – do you think it would work for this quilt?

Hi Joy … it’s up to you … as long as you don’t mind the stripes going every which way, it’ll be fine. If that will bug you, then don’t use it.
Personally, it wouldn’t bother me, but I know that it would drive some of my close quilting friends absolutely nuts! 🙂
