Carla, from Creatin in the Sticks is hosting this ORANGE Blog Hop! How fun!
I had these very pretty orange Island Batik fabrics that were sitting in my stash, calling for me to use them. Actually, they were shouting. What to do? What to make?

EQ to the rescue … along with Accuquilt Cube 8 dies.

This is actually one of the first patterns that I wrote … it was for a class I taught using the Easy Angle ruler … but it is actually more accurate to use the Accuquilt dies!
There’s a drizzly rain outside – not great for taking photos … and since I just finished quilting and binding this, I had to make do with a photo on my design wall.

I really like this, and orange is on the list of my least favorite colors most of the time. I really like the pattern, too. It’s a good one for monochromatic, which can be hard to find. Pretty!

Beautiful design, beautiful fabric, incredible quilting…Orange you glad you hit a home run! We are. I have to ask…was the fabric requirements in EQ correct, or would you have been able to finish it with what you had? Just curious! I always buy more than needed…LOL!!

Thanks Joan!
I find that EQ is generous with the amounts. But in this case, I only had 0.5 m of one of the oranges … and just putting it in the 4 patches used most of it up. If the amounts had been ‘close’ I might have tried it … but … in reality, I think it looks WAY better with the variety or oranges. 🙂
