Sunday Summary: March 1

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

As I was doing the numbers for this week, I realized that I had goofed the % for last week. It’s fixed now!!

  • January – February: 38 / 59
  • March: 1 / 1
  • Total: 39/ 59: 66%

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “What’s on your Design Wall” every week.

Piecing projects:

  • Toni’s Garden – is a sew-a-long that started in January … It looks pretty, so I decided to join in! (check it out HERE). All I’ve done so far is download the patterns for the first 2 blocks … hopefully I’ll be able to show you my first block soon!
  • Patterns by Jen – 2026 Monthly Colour Challenge
  • Rainbow Scrap Challenge: Red for March
  • Test Quilt for Songbird Designs: Dancing Shadows

Quilting Projects:

Donna at Quilt Paint Create hosts a weekly linky party where you can display your stash numbers. This has really kept my stash from growing (somewhat!) Before I buy anything, I am always mindful of the fact that I need to report it on my blog … That sometimes stops me in my tracks!

No shopping so far this year!

I finished quilting my SAHRR, but I won’t count the yardage until I post it (on March 25)

  • Fabric used this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Used in 2026:     43.5 yards (30.5 yards from non-Island Batik)
  • Fabric Added in the last week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Added this year:   0 yards
  • Net Fabric used:             43.5 yards

Rainbow Scrap Challenge

March’s colour is RED Nothing sewn yet … haven’t even attacked my scrap bag! But soon!

When I finished my Irish Chain with stars, there were several partial components, so I’m going to continue to use the same blocks for my next leader and ender project.
