A DrEAMI, A Squirrel … a TGIFF

IMG_6117fullsizeoutput_ba0This bag measures 5″ x 9½” … a request from my daughter.

It was from the fabric that my daughter choose when we were in Africa. See the middle fabric on the bottom?

What’s a DrEAMi you ask?

It’s a DRop Everything And Make It.    Sew … I took a few hours, and made this little gem above.

What’s a Squirrel?

I discussed Squirrels in THIS POST.  “A squirrel is a sudden distraction that pulls us away from projects already underway.”  Definition is from Quilt Diva Julie’s blog.

Speaking of DrEAMIs and Squirrels …

I was over at a friend’s home today and we made this sweet little zipper pouch on her embroidery machine.  It’s a free pattern by Kreative Kiwi. Isn’t it cute?  Now, I know you’re asking if I will be making one?  … ummm, we’ll see.

    • Hi Jennifer!
Are you encouraging me to make another squirrel??? 🙂 I still haven’t chosen fabric for the little bag … sew, it may or may not happen!
Thanks for hosting Wednesday Wait Loss! 🙂

  3. i really like the African fabric, so rich. The zippered pouch, I love the stitching on half the bag. It really makes the bag. Thank you for linking up to Put your foot down. 🙂

  4. I have the embroidery file for that monogram pouch. I just haven’t made one yet. I also saw your feature with the Seminole piecing pouches and decided to order a book on Seminole piecing. i have done it once, but I had a borrowed book. Once I start looking at the book, I am sure it will all come back to me. Ha ha.

  6. Well, if that isn’t the cutest little squirrel that dropped in to play at your quilt studio! Nicely done! I’ve been sewing this week, but everything I’m doing can’t be shown yet. I do have a squirrel hovering though, so we’ll see what happens this weekend!

  7. Hi Gail! Lots of goodness in this post. I just adore the pouch and especially how it features the fabric from Africa. And your second sweet little red pouch is so cute, too. I wonder what that one will be used for?! Thanks for hosting TGIFF! I’m off to check out Gretchen’s post . . . ~smile~ Roseanne

    • Hi Roseanne,
I’m not sure what the little pouch will be used for! However, I’m sure it will find a practical use!
It’s fun to host TGIFF! It’s a great way to meet “new” to me quilters and to say “hi” to quilting friends!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂
