Feb. 1: PHD in 2020 Progress Report

Screen Shot 2019-12-06 at 11.47.00 AMWe all need help from our friends!  Some of the participants in PHD in 2020 have tools to help us along!  There are others out there as well!  You can take advantage of them, or not … it’s your choice!

Sharon

Sharon of  Ms. P Designs has developed a spreadsheet for various tasks for each of her UFOs.  I think it is brilliant!  She said that she’d have it up for others to download, if you want to use it!  HERE

Deana

Deana of Dreamworthy Quilts has a monthly UFO draw challenge.  Each month, she chooses a different number for you to work on. She also has linky parties for you to link up your progress and your goals.

Tish

Tish of Tish’s Adventures in Wonderland  has a UFO Busting Linky Party every Saturday. So, you can link up your UFOs each week!

Beware of Temptations

Of course there are a zillion temptations out there, luring us to try something new, join the latest sew-along, or mystery quilt, or block of the month, or Row by Row, or colour months … you know what I mean.  You’ve seen a lot of them  & of course, it’s your choice whether or not you start them … but you know – that unless they carry into 2021, (or Dec. 2020) you have to finish them in order to get your PHD in 2020!

So far, I have resisted all temptation … except, I did download a new mystery quilt (but am still on the fence as to if I’m going to do it), and CQA (Canadian Quilter’s Association) is starting a Row by Row this month …  I did start a new quilt … but that’s because I took a class learning how to sew curves.  It’s a quilt I will finish!  And I have an Island Batik project each month!  I hope to manage it all!  But obviously I haven’t resisted ALL temptations!

2020 UFOs Finished in January

2 quilts were on my list of 12 to finish, the Seminole Zippy pouches were UFOs that were not on the list!

2020 January Starts Finished

The top 2 pictures are Island Batik projects … one is a cover for my sewing machine and the other is a bag for my cutter.  The bottom picture is a little zipper pouch that I made for my daughter with some African fabric.

2020 Starts Not Finished

I have the curved pieces that will be a quilt … and I’ve started February’s Island Batik challenge, but of course I can’t show you that yet!

Linky Party!

Show us your progress (finished or not) on what you’ve been working on for your PHD in 2020!
Make sure that you link your post back to this blog post .  Also, visit others that also working on their PHD in 2020 and leave them an encouraging comment!

  1. Awesome work on your PHD projects Gail – that’s a positive start to the year! So true about temptation – I do get tempted and then look at my big list of things to achieve that’s hanging on the wall (in full view) – it’s easy then to sigh and say ‘next time’…!

    • LOL Anja! Finishing what you started is part of PhD in 2020 … so you gotta keep track! 🙂
You’ll make progress this month on your UFOs, right? Or on at least one UFO! 🙂
      Happy Quilting! 🙂

  2. You’ve gotten a strong start on your 2020 PHD! Nothing finished on my end, but I’ve done well on not adding anything so far. That won’t last, but I’ll take it while I can.

  3. You got off to a good start. I am going to be a couple of days late on mine, but I will get it finished and post for my February goals. All of my goals are doable, so I just need to allow time for the “bumps in the road of life!” LOL Hopefully, I can be ahead of schedule the rest of the year.
