Sunday Summation: February 19 ’23

SAHRR

Have you been following the Stay At Home Round Robin? Last week was Round #4: Flying Geese! I’m using fabric collection “Baby Bloomers”  (by Kathy Engle for Karen Overton). I absolutely LOVE the fabrics in this collection! As you can see from the picture below, there’s a range of colours! Each one is SEW pretty!

Come back tomorrow and see what the latest prompt is!

One Gift a Month Challenge

Days Filled with Joy is hosting this challenge. February’s gift is a Heart Shaped Zipper Pouch. See HERE for the tutorial.

At first, I thought this little pouch is too small, and then I spotted my ear buds, lying there, the connecting wires spread here and there … they need somewhere safe to live! So I’m going to be making one for me! I think I’ll make 2.

Since, it calls for 5″ squares, I went to my Island Batik stash and found some beautiful heart prints from a stash builder roll! Perfect! Hearts for a Heart Shaped pouch! Aren’t these pretty fabrics?

Stitching Stuff

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

  • January: 31 / 31
  • February: 19 / 19
  • Percentage: 100%

Stash Report

Donna at Quilt Paint Create hosts a weekly linky party where you can display your stash numbers. This has really kept my stash from growing (somewhat!) Before I buy anything, I am always mindful of the fact that I need to report it on my blog … That sometimes stops me in my tracks!

Lots of fabric used since last time I posted about my stash. The Lone Star Quilt Used 7.5 yards of fabric and the Puff Quilt used 6 yards

I can still brag … ! I’ve made it one month and a bit … can I make it for 2 months?

  • Fabric Used this week:     13.5 yards
  • Fabric Used in 2023:        18.5 yards from non-IB: 9 yards
  • Fabric Bought this week:   0 yards
  • Fabric Added this year:     0 yards
  • Net Fabric used:              18.5 yards

Just an FYI: I do not count any fabric that is given to me (Island Batik), but this year, I am going to count it as fabric used.

  1. I’m a bit late responding to the Stitching Stuff link ups from last week. Your SAHRR is coming together beautifully. Congrats on the 100% on stitching time to mid Feb and the no stash in. Hopefully both metrics are as good for this week.

  2. So many blog hops and link-ups! I struggle with just the TuesToDo sometimes! You got a lot done–the SAHRR is looking good and congrats on those 2 finishes, and congrats on no fabric buying!

  3. Love your SAHRR and all of the other pretty finishes. Those fabrics will make sweet pouches for your earbud! I’m really enjoying seeing the new IB collections. I cant believe you haven’t bought fabric with all of those photos of the new collections in front of you every day. Great work on your lists as usual! Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. Hope you are having fun this week.

  4. I love your fabric choice as well! It’s so cheerful and happy! Yes, those little pouches come in handy for all kinds of tiny items that get lost in our purses! Beautiful quilts! I’ve always wanted to make a Puff Quilt. One of these days! Congratulations on making it a whole month without buying fabric! You were quite productive last week! Happy Sewing!
