Sunday Summary: October 26

Left-overs made into 2 zipper pouches and a placemat. The placemat will go to Meals on Wheels for their Christmas delivery. You can read more about them on THIS POST.

In early September, Teresa emailed me asking if I had the pattern for “Ivan’s Diamonds.” In a very short period of time, Teresa had paid for the pattern and quickly made it. She sent me pictures of her quilt … Isn’t it gorgeous? And the quilting is perfect!! Thank you Teresa for allowing me to share your pictures!

There is a bit of progress on the quilt … Week 1 – 5 are done. I’ve been procrastinating Week 6. The thought of making all those flying geese cutting small pieces does not interest me. I just might skip a row! I haven’t decided yet! You can access the Mystery HERE.

Kate, from Life in Pieces, is hosting “Stitching Stuff” and the goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes a day. I use Kate’s guideline, but my personal goal is to sew for 30 minutes a day. On those “blah” days, it does motivate me to sit at my machine and 30 minutes often turns into several hours. Thank you Kate for the motivation!

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “What’s on your Design Wall” every week.

Piecing projects:

  • Work on a Test quilt for Songbird Designs

Quilting projects:

  • Island Batik November Challenge

So far, I’m doing good!! My picture shows an orange petal each day that I clean for 15 minutes and the rest of the time is spent sewing … (the petals do not represent the exact time … but when I clean, I set my timer for 15 minutes and I stop when it goes off! [Leanne of Devoted Quilter has a fun way to track your progress. This is for October and November. You can download a form to colour in each day as you work your way through. You can go to Instagram and click on her post HERE ]

This is my current list of WIPS. I’d love to have them all finished by the end of WIPS-B-GONE!!

  1. You made good use of all the left overs from the quilt. I hear you on the small pieces, I’ve been trying to finish off last year’s BH mystery. I enjoy piecing but sometimes her projects are a lot of stitching. Congrats on all the stitching time this year. You have lots of progress to show for it.

  2. I love your fabrics for the mystery quilt. I am working on the last block. I got them all cut out. Just need to sew them together and into rows. You’ve really gotten a lot done. Congratulations for all your hard work and inspiration.

  3. It’s so funny what we like to sew and what we don’t! I am procrastinating all those HST blocks and skipped ahead to the stars and the all the flying geese because I enjoy them! LOL
