Happy Father’s Day

happy father's day  This picture is perfect for my husband … he’s always working with tools of some sort and figuring things out!

My progress on Square Dance is on the left.  The reveal is out.  I’m way behind … I’ll catch up one of these days.  I’m making the table topper and I think I’ll be very pleased when it’s done!  You can see the all the clues HERE.

On the left are the results of the Fireburst mystery quilt.  You can follow along on Tish’s blog.  I decided to do the lap size quilt (because I had enough fabric) … and these pieces seem really big to me!  I’m sew used to doing Bonnie Hunter’s patterns that it’s sort-of weird to make BIG half-square triangles.  But, it also means that I’ll get a decent size quilt with not a ton of work!

Hearts of all sizes are being quilted … I’m about 1/3 of the way through this small-ish quilt.

  1. Catching up is what us quilters do 🙂 It’s going to be a beautiful quilt when you get it finished. Your Fireburst is looking great too! I tried to keep it as simple as possible, big or little quilt 🙂

    • Hi Tish!
      Thanks for the encouragement!

  2. Congrats on all the progress this year! You’ve been moving right along on those UFOs. Very impressive stash numbers too. Happy stitching this week.

  3. I am impressed on your fabric out for the year. I guess that’s from all those UFOs you’ve been finishing. How can you not buy any new fabric? Seems like every time I want to start a new project, I either don’t have enough or what I do have isn’t just right.

    • Hi Karen!
Yes, my numbers for fabric used are pretty good!
For the most part, I do use my stash when I want to start a new project. Sometimes, it might not be quite right, but usually it does work. And, I’m determined to use my stash!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂

    • Hi Susie,
Yes, there are a ton of little pieces in Bonnie’s quilts … but, you know, there’s nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with making a smaller version. It likely saves a little bit of sanity!
Good luck with your “On Ringo Pond!” LOL

  4. Good luck catching up with square dance. The fireburst fabrics are quite interesting. I really like the leaf fabric and I think this colour combination will make a great quilt.

    • HA! HA! I probably shouldn’t have said anything about thinking something could be finished fast! The old saying “The faster I go, the behinder I get” certainly applies to me!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂
