The Carpenter’s Star … in all it’s starry glory! Is done! I’m in love with it! If it didn’t have a specific destination, I would be keeping this one!

There are swirls in all the background (whitish) pieces and mostly straight lines in the coloured areas. All of the quilting is free motion on my domestic sewing machine.

Wow another great week for you Gail. The Carpenter Star is a real beauty and I really like the fabric in your Mystery quilt. You are really inspiring me to try to get more done. I remember what is what like before DH had his surgery and I had time to sew. 🤔

Thanks, Carol.
You’ll have time to sew once your DH has recovered. Right now he’s your priority!
Happy Quilting! (if you have time!) 🙂

So true Gail, but I did manage to finish a pattern test quilt to flimsy stage just now! I have a finish for August and DH can get around with his walker so life just keeps getting better! 😉

Good to hear that he’s getting around with his walker! That’s a big step! (oh, that is so not punny!) 🙂
Glad that you’ve got a test pattern to flimsy stage! Good for you!

You had a pretty successful week! I like your carpenter star. Someday I want to make one. You’ve done a great job on finishing UFOs. I like that you revised your PHD goals to reflect finishing more than you expected to. Great Job.

Thanks, Bonnie!
The revised PHD goal just had to be … I had 1/2 a year and lots of UFOs …

Love your Carpenter’s Wheel! And I now noticed your secret to getting so much done this year–switching from a goal of 15 min a day to 30min!

Thanks, Emily!
Yes, it was fairly easy to switch to 30 minutes a day since I’m home most of the time, now. As well the 30 min / day can sometimes turn into 3 hours or more … depending …
Happy Quilting! 🙂

The Carpenter Star quilt turned out beautifully! Congrats on the finish. You’ve done well on all fronts, finishes, stash busting and stitching time! Hope this week is as good.

Lovely quilt. Carpenter star is one of my favourite go-to patterns. I’m only sad that you didn’t post closer pictures of your lovely quilting! Don’t worry – I zoomed in so I was able to see it. I guess I had to work for the privilege!!
Cheers

OH … sorry, Terry! I guess I was so excited to have the quilt done, that I forgot to take close-up pictures. I’ll try to take some for my next blog post! I don’t want you to have to work so that you can see close-ups! LOL!!!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

It looks great! I’ve wanted to make a Carpenter’s Star. Any Y-seams?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hi Anja!
Nope … not a single Y-seam!!!! It’s all 6.5″ (unfinished HST) … nice and easy … of course, depending on the print, you might want to make sure they match … but something busy or solid … it’ll work great!
Can’t wait to see your Carpenter’s Star in the near future! 🙂

I don’t have the patience to quilt by hand … plus, it hurts … so machine quilting it is!
