I won fabric and a book! I donated several quilts last year to the Charity Baby Quilt program. Usually in June, they draw names for prizes. Of course, with Covid, and no in-person meetings, that did not happen. At the last Zoom guild meeting, my name was drawn. I received these in the mail. I love that the grey and pink fabrics are so “not me!” It’s going to be fun to play with them … and yes, there will likely be a baby quilt or two made from them. There’s a total of 4 yards – which I will add to my “bought” amount below. Thank you Nora and Carol for facilitating the Baby Quilt Program!

Design Wall

Piecing:
I showed you this last week … it’s still in the same state.
Hopefully, I can start on my SAHRR.
I did make a few Covid ornaments: They are approximately 2″ x 4″ with small pieces of elastic on each end and “2020” embroidered on them. I plan to stick them in a few Christmas cards.

Quilting:
Scrappy 4 patches: Is still waiting to be quilted.
Stash Report

Nothing finished. No shopping and nothing added.
- Fabric Used this week 0 yards
- Fabric Used this year: 292.5 yards
- Fabric Bought Gifted this week: 4 yards
- Fabric Added this year: 66.5 yards (my husbands amounts as well)
- Net Fabric used 226 yards
- Husband’s purchases: 17 yards (which are added into my total amount of Fabric added this year). For those of you who don’t know … my husband often buys more fabric than I do … so, I’m keeping track! Unfortunately, he doesn’t sew!

Hi Emily,
I’ll have to dream up something to do with the fabrics … they will make a lovely baby quilt!
Glad you laughed at the mask ornaments! I couldn’t resist!

Nice win! Those fabrics should make some pretty projects. I was enjoying a good chuckle when I saw your ornament. They look like a fun make. I’m sure the recipients will enjoy them.

Hi Carol,
The ornaments were super easy to make … I just stitched 2020 with the alphabet on my machine and then cut the fabric 2 1/4″ x 4″ … had 2″ elastic pieces … sewed around (right sides together), left an opening to turn … turned it … glued the opening closed … easy peasy!

Gail you are tempting me to look at an embroidery/quilting machine when I save up to buy the next one! This sounds and looks like a fun project that the recipients will enjoy immensely 😁

Hi Carol,
The stitching on the ornament can be made with many smaller sewing machines that have the alphabet … however, most of the quilting machines (unless it’s just a straight / FMQ machine) have alphabets … I do have an embroidery machine that is a stand alone machine … I want to be able to sew while it’s stitching out.
In the meantime,
Happy Quilting! 🙂

Hi Gail. Isn’t it wonderful that we can find a machine that is just perfect for our needs these days? It’s a good thing I don’t have my large studio anymore or I would be trying to collect machines 😉

Hi Carol,
Yes it certainly is!!!
I don’t want to talk about my machine collection … 🙂

Hi Gail! Congrats on winning four yards of fabric in such cute prints. Those will be fun to play with for a different change for you. The book looks like a fun one, too. Yay you for getting your list all completed. I really need to buckle down and get the last three projects complete for 2020. It’s been a struggle to get in the sewing room lately. Thanks for linking up this week! ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne!
It will be fun to play with the fabric …
With your sewing room struggle … set yourself a goal of 15 minutes a day … that’s all. Just 15 minutes. You’ll be amazed at what gets done!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

It’s always fun to win. Looking forward to seeing what you do with those pretty pinks. Great metrics all around. Hope you get in lots of stitching time this week and are able to nail that last UFO on your PHD program. Happy stitching.

Hi Kate,
That UFO … it’s sitting, patiently waiting for it’s finish … just finishing up a few deadline things and then it’ll be the UFOs turn!
Happy Quilting! 🙂
