I did Promise you

Close up pictures of a couple of quilts:  This first one was the Island Batik Accuquilt Challenge.  Free Motion quilting did not call to me and it’s totally stitched in the ditch. (And yes, I used my ruler foot and a ruler for most of the quilting.)  I used Aurifil Thread and Hobbs batting.  The fabrics are Island Batik and mostly came from the Stash Builder Rolls or my yardage.

This is a Close up of Good Fortune and the quilting.  I just did an all-over pattern that was inspired by Roseanne of Home Sewn by US, but then it morphed into my own design.

  1. Hello Gail,
What a lovely collection of projects! I love the colours of the batiks.
Interesting that the quilting of the Good Fortune quilt morphed into your own design. That’s the best way to quilt!
Thank you for linking up with Free Motion Mavericks.
    Love, Muv

  2. I’m usually making gifts at the last minute! Often I begin quilts with Christmas fabrics in July, though, right around the time new lines start showing up in the stores 😉

    • Hi! If we’re going to sew Christmas projects, we all need to start sometime! I only made the Christmas RAPPing one now because of the blog hop!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂

  3. WHAT??? Hi Gail! I inspired you to quilt Good Fortune? I was just admiring that nice big photo, reading along and then WHAM. I saw my name – huh?? Love the quilt – I love stars – and your quilting looks fabulous. And five UFOs. Sweet. You’ve got it going on, girl. Plus, I just realized that your RAPPers day is my brother’s birthday so I certainly will not forget. I can’t wait to see what you made. This whole project is just so darn fun! ~smile~ Roseanne

    • Hi Roseanne,
Well, I do believe in giving credit where credit is due!!! It was at least a month or more ago when you posted about some FMQ design you were making up … I drew it out then, and attempted to quilt it … but as I said, it morphed. But that’s OK … I thought a lot about your design while I was quilting! 🙂
Oh – Christmas RAPPing is a pretty awesome book! Lots of fun projects!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂
