Finishes

I have 2 finishes this week!!!

Florabunda #1 is quilted, label on and binding complete! This is the one with blue floral fabrics.

The 2nd finish is the Guild’s Ugly Fabric where I used the fabric on the left,  following this YouTube Video.

It was a fun and fast quilt to make!

The hardest part was laying out the blocks so that the same fabric didn’t touch!

Piecing:

I need to make 2 quilts. One for a baby born about 2 weeks ago and another for the baby’s big brother.  I’m using these fabrics … one of the quilts will have half square triangles.  Hopefully, I can show you the quilts next week!UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_380a

  2. Hi Gail! You are really rocking your to-do lists along with your UFOs this year. I love the pattern you chose for the ugly fabrics. I’ll have to look at that video. Thanks for linking up this week and good luck with this week’s list. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I like the Florabunda quilt. I have a tote box full of floral fabrics from the 90’s that I have been looking to do something with. I think I found it.

    • Hi Darlene,
It will be great for your floral fabrics! However, even though I’ve enough blocks for 3 quilts, I STILL have a box of floral fabrics left! But it will put a small dent in your tote!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂

  4. When I think of batiks I think of tightly woven, color saturated fabrics which make my heart sing! I love working with them. Thank you for the chance to win!

  5. You had a very productive week Gail. Flora India 1 and the Guild ugly fabric quilts are both happy, quilts. They will definitely cover someone in a cocoon of cozy goodness.

  6. Wow! I am amazed at what you’re able to get finished! I am a quilting newbie and I am working on my first two projects. One is a table runner that I’ve turned into a wall hanging with daisies on it. The other one is a project bag, a pattern that I’ve modified that was in an English quilting magazine using Tula Pink fabric. I have a lot of other projects in mind and some of them I’ve actually started gathering the fabrics for since I can’t afford the quilting kits that I’ve seen lately I’m just buying material here and there where I can afford it! Anyway, your work is amazing and inspirational.

    • Hi Karleen,
Welcome to the wonderful world of quilting!
Don’t be too amazed at what I’m able to finish … except for the “ugly” quilt, most things have been in progress for awhile!
You’re doing great to be working on two projects! Just a word of caution – so you don’t end up with an un-managable number of UFOs … finish those projects before you start something new! It’s taken me a LONG time to realize that’s the only way to NOT increase your UFO list!
      Happy Quilting! 🙂
