Just to remind you … SAHRR is Stay At Home Round Robin. If you missed the previous posts about this year’s SAHRR – you can see them
Today is the day that Wendy told us to add wonky stars. I’m a rebel … and I did friendship stars instead! I used the Accuquilt to cut the half-square triangles. Do I ever enjoy using it for those!
However, I didn’t do the math very well and I have extra stars left over. I wanted to leave the cornerstone as a plain white block, so … who knows what will happen with those extra stars?

Again, I continued to use a variety of fabrics from Island Batik’s Ohana collection.
Make sure to visit all of the other co-leaders and link up toWendy’s linky party to show us your blocks! HERE

Piecing:
I’m working on my March Island Batik project. Sorry, no pictures yet!
Quilting:
I took a Silly Moon Ruler Quilting class on Saturday by Zoom. It was fun and I learned some things. Believe it or not – the fabric is dark blue and the thread is light grey . Obviously, my phone did not pick up the true colours!

Stash Report

No change from last week!
- Fabric Used this week 0 yards
- Fabric Used this year: 5 yards
- Fabric Bought this week: 0 yards
- Fabric Added this year: 9 yards (my husbands amounts as well)
- Net Fabric used – 4 yards
- Husband’s purchases: 0 yards (which are added into my total amount of Fabric added this year). For those of you who don’t know … my husband often buys more fabric than I do … so, I’m keeping track! Unfortunately, he doesn’t sew!

My original plan was to do friendship stars. LOL But I did end up making wonky stars. I love the fabrics you are using.

It’s been fun to see all the different versions of the SAHRR. I love your colors and the addition of friendship stars rather than the wonky stars. Congrats on being at 100% on the stitching time front. You’ve been moving many things along, you’ve already got finishes on your PHD report. I appreciated your to do to ignore the squirrels. Sometimes that has to be the hardest thing on the to do list!

SAHRR is coming along nicely. I am sure the extra stars can spice up the backing or become a mini!!! Sneak peeks of March scrapbuster IB projects are fair game 🙂 You show me yours and I’ll show you mine :-p

Thanks, Pretti!!! Hadn’t thought about a mini … we’ll see what happens. As for sneak peaks of March … I don’t share those on my blog! 🙂 Nice try though!!! 🙂

Gail your friendship stars while not wonky, work so well in this round. I’m in love with your SAHRR. You’ve had another great week. Now I’m off to check out Silly Moon Rulers.😉

Thanks, Carol!!! The rulers are made here in the lower mainland. She offers lots of classes on the rulers and I find their size makes it easy to handle. They can be used on a domestic as well as a long arm. Have fun researching them!!! 🙂

Gail these rulers are awesome! I love that they are Canadian made so we don’t have to pay customs. I’m looking at her classes, too 😊

How big are your stars? It’s so hard to tell how big everything is in the project. I have not yet chosen how big to make my stars.

Hi Laura,
I had to go measure them!!! 🙂 They finish at 6″ – so the triangles and the square were 2.5″ before sewn together. I’m looking forward to seeing yours! 🙂

Silly Moon is the name of a Canadian company that makes quilting rulers. I’m in love with their rulers … and I love that they are made in Canada!

The diagonals on your quilt are really interesting. Leaving them blank gives the quilt quite a unique look

I think it’s great that you made the star that you like. Plus, wonky isn’t going to work with every design. Your stars work really well with your quilt!

Hi Gail! Total success on your to-do list is just fabulous, as are your friendship stars. The name alone seems just perfect for this SAHRR project. Your quilting looks fab but I can’t believe the fabric is blue! WOWEE! I’ve found that I have to add something white in the picture to get blue to photograph correctly. I’m not sure why that works . . . but it has. Your stash report is impressive as is your SAHRR piece. Each border really does highlight that center medallion perfectly. ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne! Thanks for the tip about white with the blue. I’ll have to try that out!
